Attorney General Opens a Criminal Investigation of HaRav Ovadia Yosef

Many reactions, from all sides of the political system, were heard yesterday, to the decision of Attorney General Eliakim Rubinstein to instruct the Police to open a criminal investigation of HaRav Ovadia Yosef, the leader of Shas.

From Cape Town came the sad news of the passing of Rebbetzin Kaila Steinhaus, o"h, the wife of Rabbi Shmuel Steinhaus, who is originally from England and has been based in Cape Town for many years. Rebbetzin Steinhaus is the daughter of the late Rabbi Salzer who was the head of the Adath Yeshurun community in Cape Town. Her brother is currently the head of that community.
