OPINION & COMMENT

The Jewish People are Truly Believers

On Shabbos Parshas Bereishis, an Israeli bus skidded in the first rains of the season and plunged off a cliff, killing 16 of its passengers and injuring 38. Authorities are now investigating and trying to decide if the fault was the driver's or the bus company's maintenance people. No doubt this must be determined, but we know that the situation was not aided by the fact that the trip involved chillul Shabbos.

Perfection
a story by Chaya Levinson - Part One

"There is nothing as whole and perfect as a broken heart..." (R' Yisroel Salanter)

Additional Luach Information:

The last day for Kiddush Levonoh -- Cheshvan

One can say Kiddush Levonoh in the entire world until Sunday, the eve of 15 Cheshvan (Oct. 24), at 10:13 P.M., Israeli time. In most of Europe the final time is 9:13 P.M., but in America it is impossible at all to make Kiddush Levonoh this night. The actual final time in America is therefore the entire Motzei Shabbos parshas Lech Lecho, the eve of 14 Cheshvan (Oct. 23). However, in the extreme eastern countries one can make Kiddush Levonoh the entire Sunday night, the eve of 15 Cheshvan.

It seems that bedi'eved one can make a brocho until 11:02 P.M. in Eretz Yisroel and until 10:02 P.M. in most of Europe, the time of the astronomical full moon, since it is at least within fifteen days from the molad.
