Throughout history, our forefathers and mothers eagerly
fulfilled the halochos of Jewish family purity,
frequently with great self-sacrifice. To disseminate their
observance as well as their correct performance, outstanding
Torah leaders have supported the establishment of the Tohoras
Yisroel Institute, headed by HaRav Hillel Wertheimer.
All Institute activities are under the guidance and
supervision of HaRav Moshe Shaul Klein member of the beis
din of HaRav Shmuel Wosner, who serves also as rav of the
Bnei Brak Or HaChaim community.
The Institute's objective is to instruct the public at large
about these halochos. Its trained counselors provide
individual tutoring and organize Torah classes on various
levels throughout the country. Dozens of classes are
currently being held in large cities as well as smaller
settlements in the north and south, all manned by proficient
halocho teachers.
In addition, Tohoras Yisroel has published informative
pamphlets that encourage study and review of these
halochos, which HaRav S. Wosner emphasizes constitute
our nation's pillar. HaRav Nissim Karelitz, rosh
kollel of Kollel Chazon Ish and rav of Bnei Brak's Ramat
Aharon community, stresses that one must maintain set times
to review these halochos. The significance of this
review, as HaRav A. Y. L. Steinman (member of the Council of
Torah Sages of Agudas Yisroel of Eretz Yisroel) points out,
is that it ensures that one will not inadvertently fail to
comply with these halochos and will continue to
strengthen kedusha. Stringent adherence to these
halochos leads to the bliss of eternal life, as HaRav
Michel Yehuda Lefkovitz, a rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas
Ponevezh LaTzeirim, reminds us. The pamphlets are replete
with impassioned appeals to set aside ample time to become
competent in these halochos and to review them
regularly.
In addition, the Tohoras Yisroel Institute has distributed
tapes of a series of Torah classes given by HaRav M. Klein,
in which he analyzes the halochos from their sources
in the gemora, the Rishonim, and the
poskim, including practical solutions to contemporary
problems.
The Tohoras Yisroel Institute has many other long-range plans
aimed at carrying out various efforts to increase
tohoroh throughout the country.
