Christian Evangelicals are the Biggest Supporters of Trump and Israel

Information publicized these past few days reports that the American Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, came to Israel Wednesday to visit, among other places, the settlements beyond the Green Line, among them, Yekev P'sagot. From his viewpoint, this is not only a diplomatic visit but a Gordian Knot with deeper roots. All in all, this will be the first visit from a top diplomatic official from the U.S. to the settlements beyond the Green Line.

Many eyebrows were raised, especially regarding Pompeo, who will shortly be exiting his office, though not all paid attention to this fact, since it involves a devout Christian evangelistic figure. This is what connects him to assistance to the Rightists and the settlements beyond the Green Line, which coincides with his particular religious vision.

Agudath Israel Asks Supreme Court To End Discriminatory Restrictions in NY

Agudath Israel of America has taken its case to the U.S. Supreme Court, filing for an injunction to block New York's "Cluster Initiative" against shuls and other houses of worship. The Agudah suit was filed together with the Agudath Israel of Kew Garden Hills and its shul Secretary, Mr. Steven Saphirstein, and the Agudath Israel of Madison and its Rav, Rabbi Yisroel Reisman, shlita.

This follows a similar move taken by the Brooklyn Catholic Diocese.

Clarity in Torah and Character: HaGaon R' Shlomo Heiman — Rosh Yeshivas Torah Vodaas, Ramailless, and Baranovitch

by C. Zilberman

The yahrtzeit of HaRav Raphael Chaim Shlomo Heiman, gaon and true Torah pioneer in America, is 17 Kislev. He was niftar in 1945 at the age of 52, so this is his 76th yahrtzeit. We first published this 26 years ago, in the year of the 50th yahrtzeit, in our print edition in Eretz Yisroel. This is a major addition of information on HaRav Heiman to the Internet. It was written by Rabbi Zilberman originally in English specifically for the Israeli English Yated Ne'eman.

The heartbroken Rebbetzin was sitting shiva alone. Although they were childless, HaRav Shlomo Heiman and his wife had always been united in their aspiration to build true bnei Torah. Now R' Heiman had died, and Feiga Heiman was by herself.

In front of her sat a small group of Torah Vodaas students who had come to console her. "Der Rebbe," the Rebbetzin said to them, "taught you how to learn gemora; I will teach you how to be good husbands!" And she delivered a shiur on that subject, illustrated by the conduct of her late husband:

Don't Speak Loshon Hora About Eretz Yisroel - A True Story

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

It was some thirty-one years ago that the tzaddik HaRav Dov Sokolovsky zt'l was niftar in Yerushalayim. He was the favorite son-in-law of the revered rov of Mir in Lithuania, HaRav Avrohom Tzvi Kamai Hy'd, who died al kiddush Hashem. The unassuming R' Dov lived a rich life of ninety years imbued with Torah and chesed.

He was a closemouthed man. Only rarely did a crack open in his solid wall of silence, but when that happened, concealed treasures burst forth: Torah glowed from him, the living Torah that R' Dov had painstakingly accumulated during his ninety years of being in the shadow of Torah leaders and living through some of the most dreadful times in our history.

The following amazing anecdote is the booty of those who were present at one of those atypical moments when R' Dov revealed his heart.

In Mir lived a well-to-do Jew who owned various local businesses, made a prosperous livelihood and in general succeeded in all he applied himself to. There was apparently no reason to warrant any change at all in the way he lived. Nonetheless, a stubborn rumor spread that this affluent person was selling all his businesses and possessions. Why? What could possibly be the reason?

Morality is Destiny

by Mordecai Plaut

The economic system of the modern world is based on greed: everyone is always supposed to try to make as much money as he or she can. Since, if something is scarce its price will rise, all resources will always be employed in the most efficient way as they chase the greater profits brought about by those high prices. This system is by far the most successful at creating great wealth.

Recently the greed has gotten out of hand and it has led to theft and fraud.
