On Wednesday 18 Kislev, December 6, US President Trump announced that he will acknowledge that Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel. In response, Agudath Israel of America, with the guidance of its rabbinical leaders, issued the following statement:
One of the recent initiatives by the chareidi parties to preserve the status of public Shabbos observance in Israel is known as the Supermarket Law. It is a response to a recent High Court decision that allowed supermarkets in Tel Aviv to stay open. 169 stores are now open every Shabbos in Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, the issue has been confined to Tel Aviv.
Throughout the Jewish world, masses of prayers are being said to arouse Heavenly compassion for the full and vigorous recovery of the father and master of Jewry, Rabbenu Aharon Yehuda Leib ben Gittel Feiga Shteinman, amidst all the ailing of Jewry. May Hashem indeed send him speedy balm that he be restored to full health.

Praising Hashem on Chanukah
by HaRav Chaim Ezra Barzel
On the first night of Chanukah we add the brocho of shehecheyonu (Who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season) to the brochos of lehadlik ner shel Chanukah and she'osoh nissim. The gemora (Shabbos 23a) rules that even someone who only sees the Chanukah light and does not light it himself makes the two brochos of she'osoh nissim and shehecheyonu, and leaves out only the brocho of lehadlik, since he does not actually kindle it.
