All over there were gatherings to mark the passing of the Rosh Hayeshiva zt"l and to express the sense of loss so universally felt.
In Jerusalem one speaker noted: Our generation suffers from the excessive pursuit of kovod and physical pleasures. Hashem sent us as a leader one who lived the exact opposite of the ills of our generation, one to whom physical pleasures and kovod meant literally nothing.
HaRav Chaim Kanievsky said: Everyone should add a few minutes of learning every day of the year le'iluy nishmas Rabbenu Hagodol zt"l.
