As of January 4 (17 Teves) only 98 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 53% of the average rainfall for this period and 18% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.
It has a pretty dry season all over Israel so far. Special prayers are being said. The situation is similar throughout the country. Rain is predicted for this weekend.
The current level of the Kinneret is -214.35 meters below sea level, which is below the lower red line of -213 meters.
