New Strict Smoking Limitations in Israel

This past motzei Shabbos initiated a new law forbidding smoke in public areas. This delineates a very detailed list of new regulations approved by the Knesset Health Committee, which came into effect on September 1st

According to the new regulations, smoking will be forbidden in the following places: open area public events numbering fifty people or more; in the inside and outside areas of hospitals and clinics; municipal authorities; government offices; legal courts and religious councils; places where physical activities and sports are held such as basketball fields etc.; swimming pools; entrances to kindergartens; playgrounds; zoos and covered or underground parking lots.
