Rain and Kinneret Watch

by Dei'ah Vedibur Staff

Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret - 5778.

As of January 25 (9 Shvat) 230 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 85% of the average rainfall for this period and 43% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.

This week there was significant rainfall and it is still raining. The situation is easing throughout the country.

The current level of the Kinneret is -214.155 meters below sea level, which is below the lower red line of -213 meters. It went up almost 3 inches in the last week, but this is much slower than it needs to go up.
