Hundreds of Torah disseminators, administrators and educators involved in the sacred task of chinuch of the younger generation gathered this past Monday at the opening of the Twelfth Annual Chinuch Conference in the Nir Etzion hotel for a three day intensive seminar to discuss ways of imparting pure chinuch and dealing with the various evils of the times.
"How vital is this gathering in its purpose to discuss the paths of growth and the weighty responsibility of dealing with our tinokos shel beis rabbon upon whose very breath the world exists."
The convention opened with a very moving prayer for the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman, who bears the burden of this generation and the yoke of our pure chinuch upon his shoulders and who has borne the responsibility of the Chinuch Conference ever since its establishment. HaRav Gershon Eidelstein, in his letter to the event, wrote: "Those who possess sterling character traits see greater success in their task of education."
The opening address of the central assembly was presented by HaRav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi who dwelled on the responsibility resting upon the shoulders of mechanchim. Also a special meeting took place on Monday night regarding "Chinuch in its Purity" headed by R' Dov Yaffe at which letters of greetings and blessings from HaRav Eidelstein and the Gerrer Rebbe were read aloud. A special address was also delivered by the Admor of Biala.
