HaRav Sonnenfeld speaking at a rally against the dangers of the Internet. At the right are HaRav Yitzchok Silberstein and HaRav Gershon Edelstein
We all find ourselves faced with a grave threat, a danger which literally never existed before!
Some of us are still indifferent because the public is completely unaware of the majority of the disasters which took place.
There are upright women who go off to work and send their husbands to study Torah. The Internet is accessible in every office, and often as not, not screened. If the employee herself does not demand that it be protected from undesirable elements, she is exposed to terribly destructive things! Are you aware of how many women abandoned their children because of it?
If a woman is working in a place with doubtful computer supervision, one cannot assume that "it will be alright" because it definitely will not be! Don't argue that, "I need a job and a means of livelihood." Is this reason to destroy one's home? This is a situation of self preservation, pikuach nefesh, with no exaggeration!
The public must emerge from its lethargy and not maintain that "it doesn't concern me" - because it truly does apply to each and every one of us.
