Rain and Kinneret Watch

by Dei'ah Vedibur Staff

Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret.

As of January 28 (18 Shvat) 336 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 117% of the average rainfall for this period and 63% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.

All over Israel it was a pretty wet week. The Kinneret basin has less-than-average rainfall for this period, but other parts, especially coastal areas, are now ahead again.

The current level of the Kinneret is -212.82 meters below sea level, which is just above the lower red line of -213 meters. There was a very slight rise of 0.3 centimeters from last week.
