Protest Against Bogus Shabbos Hetter for Digital Equipment
The Torah world is in shock from the recent spurious so-called hetter circulated in the U.S. making halachic allowance for digital activities through electronic receptors on Shabbos. It claims that direct manual use of digital activities are forbidden solely because of the prohibition of muktza.
Smuggled Camel Meat and Donkey Meat was Sold in Treif Restaurants
"Hazard is more severe than prohibition" - except that vigil against hazards goes via the guarding against prohibitions. Thousands of people were deceived in high class treif restaurants into thinking that they were paying for high quality fare when in truth, they were being served donkey and camel meat whose consumption date had expired and which constituted an actual health hazard. A network of smugglers, including Israelis and Palestinians, supplied the said meat to dozens of restaurants, including leading, expensive ones, and to butcher shops selling treif meat, forging their origin and their veterinary certification, as well as their date of expiry.

The following once happened to the author of the Yeshu'as Yaakov zt'l, the Rav of Levov. On Pesach night a simple Jew hurried over to the Rav with a she'ilah concerning Pesach. The Rav understood all the Jew's kitchen utensils to be involved in the question. The Gaon had doubts about the psak and was hesitant to give a ruling. He therefore told the Jew: "You are invited to stay with me the whole Pesach."

At first, Gershon became introverted, withdrawing into himself and barely speaking. Afterwards, he grew angry at the entire world.
