Severe warnings have been issued in anticipation of the massive Lag B'Omer festivities which take place each year in Djerba, Tunisia, and draw huge numbers of Jews from all over the world including Israel.
The Headquarters for Combating World Terrorism said, "Terrorist bodies, primarily those of the World Jihad, continue to be active in Tunisia with terrorist acts. In light of this situation, the threat of attacks, including those against Jewish targets, is especially high there.
"In view of this, the Headquarters have warned people of a high degree of danger during the Lag B'Omer period in Djerba, between May 25-26, and advise not visiting this site."
Many thousands flock each year to the ancient Beis Knesses Al Jariba on the island of Djerba in southeastern Tunisia and the festivities begin already on the fourteenth of Iyar, continuing until after Lag B'Omer, the eighteenth.
