Israel Electric Company Rectifies Planned Shmittah Violation

The Electric Company announced that their planned planting of trees in the Chagit forest from money saved by the company through email billing will be postponed until after the Shmittah year. This decision was conveyed to the Deputy Chairman of the Knesset, MK Rabbi Uri Maklev, per his request.
The Electric Company publicized in recent months that in the Chagit Forest located near one of its power plants they will plant a tree for each consumer agreeing to electronic billing via email.
