Rabbonim of Ashdod convened this past Monday to protest the severe ongoing violation of Shabbos in their city being carried on by the `Big' company which maintains its activities in its shopping and recreation mall. A chain of decisions was arrived at in the battle for Shabbos sanctity being trampled so blatantly and publicly.
The conclusions of this meeting were issued in writing: "The gathering of the communal heads: rabbonim of the city of Ashdod from all the communities, congregations and circles, all register their deep pain and feeling of abuse by the offense to the honor of Shabbos by the `Big' company which is trampling the integrity of Shabbos in the mall opened within the gates of our city.
It has been duly decided that every Jew do whatever is in his power to halt this blow to the honor of Shabbos and take very possible action so that this terrible chillul Shabbos stop as soon as possible.
