Emergency Meeting of Administrators

By the behest of HaRav Shteinman and HaRav Kanievsky and with the attendance of gedolei Yisroel, an emergency meeting is planned for this upcoming Friday, erev Shabbos Parshas Bolok, to which chareidi administrators of institutions, organizations, heads of businesses and companies are invited by the Ve'idas HaRabbonim, the Committee for Fortifying the Walls of Yiddishkeit. It will be addressed by leaders of Torah and Chassidus, community rabbonim, as well as experts and advisors of the Committee's control center, so as to arouse awareness of the importance of maintaining purity in workplaces.
Close to a year ago, the Committee already organized a very impressive assembly of community rabbonim from all over Israel, headed by Torah leadership, in which it was decided that rabbonim will keep a vigilant eye to provide practical assistance and guidance to businessmen and heads of various offices and organizations regarding the spiritual security and purity of workplaces at all times.
In order to supply this service, the Committee established a control center which provides immediate guidance to the thousands of requests from workplaces, and a great arousal has resulted thereby, especially with the circulation of the letter signed by gedolei Yisroel which stated: "It has become public knowledge of the devastating damage to Jewish homes caused by Internet, in which many souls have been entrapped by the Net. A halachic ruling has been issued establishing a severe prohibition to use the open, unmonitered Internet even for purposes of parnossa, and that workplaces are obligated to arrange a proper blockage."
They added, "Of late, a guidance center has been established by the Ve'ida Committee manned by professionals to direct those in charge of workplaces how to properly block and filter the open Internet according to Halacha, and many have, indeed, been assisted thereby."
