"We must Strengthen the Shearis Yisroel Kashrus Network, Especially During Shmittah"

By Yechiel Sever

Roshei yeshiva, rabbonim, community heads and morei horo'oh and dayanim in Bnei Brak gathered at the home of HaRav Yitzchok Zilberstein, member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, Rav of Ramat Elchonon and son-in-law of HaRav Eliashiv, this past motzei Shabbos to reinforce the excellent kashrus supervision of Shearis Yisrael, especially now at the beginning of Shmittah, when this supervisory organization is very stringent in keeping all of the fine points of Halacha according to the guidelines of the Chazon Ish.

This meeting took place on the yahrtzeit of HaRav Shach, founder of this superlative Kashrus organization for the yeshiva public, and following the yahrtzeit of the Chazon Ish that Shabbos. Both contributed to the growth and strengthening of the Torah world through their Torah guidelines throughout the years.

The words of the Rosh Hayeshiva were relayed at this meeting by his devotee, HaRav Mordechai Bunim Zilberberg, Rav of Shikun Hey and one of the heads of Yeshivas Otzros HaTorah.

"As vital as is a Kashrus organization, during the Shmittah year it is all the more imperative, and the Rosh Hayeshiva waxed upon the need to be vigil in keeping Shmittah according to the fine stringencies of the Halacha and its hiddurim. This is the opportunity to fortify the Kashrus network of Shearis Yisrael during this year, when we all need its services, and whoever keeps Shmittah according to the strict Halacha without leniencies sees overt miracles."
