Visit of Gedolei Torah and Chassidus to Shmittah Fields

A rare and moving visit took place this week in the Hazorim yishuv in the North by the Admor of Vishnitz and the Admor of Toldos Aharon who came to strengthen and encourage the gibborei koach farmers who are leaving their lands fallow according to the Torah commandment of, "The land shall rest," in the purest manner despite almost overwhelming difficulties.
The touching visit began early in the morning when hundreds of boys from chadorim in Tiveria arrived at the yishuv to welcome the distinguished Admorim. The heads of Keren Hashevi'is who greeted them together with dozens of farmers from the yishuv itself and surrounding areas told about the tremendous difficulties which face them daily, when their counterparts who chose to work their lands during Shmittah try to weaken their firm resolve, while government factors also try to tempt them to embrace the Heter Mechirah. But these farmers remain steadfast in their adherence to the call of the rabbonim Gedolei Yisrael to abide fully to the sabbatical resting of the land, the greenhouses and all agricultural areas, through a devout faith in Hashem and His holy Torah.
