Y. Shein
The Twenty-Ninth Conference of European Rabbonim opened its special assembly in Toulouse on the note of the swelling anti-Semitism in Europe in general, and in France in particular.
200 of the most eminent European rabbonim and dayanim and heads of Jewish organizations from thirty-two countries participated in this conference taking place in Toulouse, where the blood crusade of fundamental Islam began with the dastardly massacre of Jewish students from Otzar HaTorah.
In the course of this meeting, the Standing Committee of the Conference met in Paris with the French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls and the Chief of Staff, General Pierre de Volier, to thank them for the support of the president and the government for the greater Jewish communities of Europe and for their providing extensive resources to protect Jewish institutions. In the course of the meeting, the president of the Conference HaRav Pinchos Goldschmidt, and vice-president of the Conference and Chief Rabbi of France, Rabbi Chaim Korsia, presented the prestigious annual Rabbi Lord Jacobowitz award to the Prime Minister of France Mr. Manuel Valls, for the French government's activities on behalf of the Jewish community.
