Memorial for HaRav Ovadiah Yosef zt"l

The members of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah of Shas have issued a moving call to the public to turn out in great numbers for the memorial rally for the Rishon leZion, the late HaRav Ovadiah Yosef, which will take place on motzei Tzom Gedaliah. It will be a chizuk gathering for the upcoming Yom Kippur and a tribute to one who sacrificed his entire life for toil in Torah and its dissemination, and outreach to tens of thousands of Jews throughout the world.
A letter written by the members of the Moetzet, including its president, HaRav Shalom Cohen, HaRav Shimon Baadani, HaRav Moshe Maya and HaRav David Yosef, highlights his outstanding self-sacrifice and his tremendous impact in setting an example of Torah and yirah, and the fact that he dedicated his entire being and energies to fortifying the walls of Jewish education in its purest form. They mentioned the copious tears he shed in praying for the annulment of the terrible threat of army service, and truly devoted his entire life in this area.
