Netanyahu Objects to Declarations for a Government
Without Chareidim
By G. Lazar
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that he is
opposed to the declarations of the Likud MKs about
creating a future government coalition without any
chareidi parties. In a party forum, he protested that
such an idea is inconsistent with Likud policy and that
those members were not justified or authorized in
expressing it.
It should be remembered that the secretary-general of
Yisrael Beiteinu, MK Fanya Kirshenbaum, joined in a bid
for a coalition free of chareidi representation, saying
that "a coalition without chareidim will enable the
passing of a comprehensive law for change in the
governing process," adding that, "the creation of two
blocs, right and left, will enable [the government] not
to be dependent on the chareidi parties and their
demands, and this will lead to a change for the better
for the State of Israel."
