Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret.
As of March 7 (25 Adar) 503 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 112% of the average rainfall for this period and 94% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm. About 1mm. fell in the past week.
In most places in Israel the rainfall so far has exceeded the average for this period so far, in many places by more than double. Haifa has already received 124% of the amount of rain it usually gets in a whole season. Many other locations in the north got more than their average share already. There is still more than a month left of the main rainy season.
The current level of the Kinneret is -210.12 meters below sea level, a rise of 0.08 meters in the last week, which is almost three meters above the lower red line of -213 meters. It is still more than a meter from the upper red line of -208.8 meters, but it is expected to rise more due to inflow of rain already fallen and snowmelt. It is now 1.32 meters below the upper red line.
