A highly impressive and uplifting show of unity and support was generated by the thousands who rallied to the annual call of Lev L'Achim, the many-faceted organization which toils to disseminate Torah, promote chinuch and do massive outreach work. The event took place this past Monday in the Heichalei Malchus auditorium in Bnei Brak with this year's message being "The Word of Hashem: Halachah," namely, intensifying the study of Halachah amongst baalei teshuvoh in the name and memory of HaRav Yosef Shalom Eliashiv ztvk"l.
The huge and deeply moving assemblage enjoyed the participation of a long roster of gedolei Yisroel, dozens of roshei yeshiva, Torah educators and esteemed figures representing Mussar and Halachah study who came specifically to endorse and show support to the prestigious organization whose main thrust is to "restore the hearts of sons to their Heavenly Father."
Aside from the impressive showing of the above esteemed figures were the thousands of avreichim from all sectors of the chareidi population who thronged from near and far to participate in this yearly event which constitutes a tremendous Kiddush Hashem and show of strength for Lev L'Achim which does such tremendous work in fostering and bolstering Torah amongst the masses to the point of a virtual revolution of Kiruv. Much of this is done by creating chavrusa learned partnerships, drawing youth to enroll in yeshivos, maintaining the Shalheves seminaries for young girls and the Lev Shomeia telephone support network, but most important of all, working on increasing the enrollment of young boys and girls in elementary Torah schools.
The participation of the foremost gedolei Yisroel, as in the past sixteen years, was an expression of their esteem for the devoted Kiruv work of the thousands of avreichim who go forth to secular neighborhoods and try their utmost to win hearts back to practicing Yiddishkeit.
