In light of the clarion cry of our Torah leadership to reinforce ourselves in the vital mitzvos of bein Adam lechavero and the laws of guarding one's speech, study sessions have been established during this Three Week period for shemiras halashon and judging one's fellow man favorably, focusing on the practical halachic aspects of these subjects. Favorable judgment is actually a Torah commandment, and as always during this time of year, our Torah leaders have urged the public to concentrate on these mitzvos, as is published in a letter from the Tuesday edition of Yated Ne'eman:
"One who is not well-versed in these laws cannot possibly avoid transgressing the prohibition of undesirable speech, especially since the laws of loshon hora are connected to daily and hourly vigil and practice."
A series of lectures for this period is in its seventh year and is currently being offered in shuls, batei medrash and yeshivos throughout the country, drawing large audiences of participants. The numbers of these shiurim grow from year to year as well as their attendees, thanks to the blessed initiative of the Notzer Lashon organization.
