Two Jewish Girls from London Hurt by Acid in Zanzibar

by D Rosen

Two Jewish girls who were vacationing in Zanzibar were seriously injured when acid was thrown at them by Moslem extremists. Zanzibar police offered a reward of 4,000 pounds Sterling for information leading to a resolution.

Police arrested a local Moslem preacher whose sermons were suspected of leading to the attack. The preacher was injured during his arrest. Five suspects of the actual attack are in custody. The father of one of the girls told the press that the girls were attacked three times during their visit. They were flown back to Britain for treatment.
