Protest an Article in a Weekly that was Criticized by Gedolei Yisroel about the Girls' Seminar Registration

by Yechiel Sever

A wave of sharp protest and disgust swept the community as a result of an article in one of the weekly publications that were criticized by gedolei Yisroel. The article was an attempt to create a shallow and casual atmosphere about issues that touch the heart of faithful Jewry. It is well known that the menahalim of the girls' seminars have stood against difficult attempts by many who are not loyal to gedolei Yisroel to confuse the issues by raising questions about the admission procedures of the girls' schools. The admission procedures are designed to preserve kedushas Yisroel.

The menahalim stress that the procedures were adopted according to the rules given by gedolei Yisroel, and they emphasize the importance of adherence to the guidelines of tsnius determined by the special beis din that was set up to decide these matters by gedolei Yisroel known as Mishmar HaTorah. Another important point is making sure that modern technology does not unfavorably impact the girls' development.
