The disastrous damage caused by Internet, which has
destroyed many Jewish homes, is fully acknowledged.
These times urgently call for formulating plans of action in
stemming this terrible breach, especially by the heads of
our holy people, lest they be blamed for negligence in this
area.
Now, before the Yomim Noraim, when hearts are receptive and
yearn to return to Hashem, we seek to generate a cry of
arousal, especially on Shabbos Shuva, forbidding the use of
the disastrous Internet, iPhone and the like — without
any heter therefore.
You must warn [the public] of the severity in the vigil of
those safeguards established in order to save our
generation, and not give allowance whatsoever, even for the
sake of livelihood, of access to Internet which is not
blocked against forbidden things, for regretfully, these
allowances have destroyed many people to perdition.
It is similarly urgent to declare the necessity of
disconnecting laptops etc. from access to Internet.
Our people is holy and Jews will surely commit themselves to
vigilance and will distance themselves from these dangerous
devices. In the merit of unifying in stemming this breach,
may Hashem's wrath be removed from our nation and may we
merit a good year and the coming of Moshiach, speedily in
our times.
