Thousands of English-Speaking Avreichim and Bochurim Attend a Chizuk Rally Decrying the Dangers of Internet

Over two thousand Anglo-Saxon avreichim and yeshiva bochurim attended a major rally intended to strengthen the public against the dangers of Internet and technological advances , the use of which the rabbonim have categorically forbidden.

Eliashiv shlita it would be allowed to walk through a Magnetometer at the gate of the Kosel Plaza on Shabbos Kodesh, where the threshold of warning will be adjusted so that a person who is wearing a reasonable amount of metal (belt buckle, watch, keys, glasses, etc.) would be able to pass through the gate and the warning mechanism (detector) will not function.


The Inequitable Petition Against Allocating Land for the Chareidi Kehilla in Neve Shaanan, Haifa, Was Rejected

A discriminatory petition submitted to the courts to prevent the allocation of land to the chareidi kehilla in the Neve Shaanan neighborhood in Haifa was dismissed, since even the judge made it clear that it had no legitimate grounds. This brought to an end the provocative chapter stirred up by a handful of citizens who begrudged the growth of chareidi elements in their neighborhood.


The Bnei Torah Public Will be Included in Offers for Trade-in of Old Electrical Appliances

Avreichim will, in the future, be included in the tenders publicized by the Ministry of Energy, offering a trade-in deal of energy-guzzling old electrical appliances for new, more economical models. This was promised by the director of the Ministry of Water and Energy, Shaul Tzemach, in a letter to the chairman of the Knesset Financial Committee, Rabbi Gafni, who challenged the heads of the Ministry with the discrimination of the chareidi public in this proposal. Initially, eligible for this offer were only those who received low income subsidies from the National Insurance Bureau (Bituach Leumi) and not those who receive similar subsidies from the Ministry of Education, such as avreichim.

Yesterday the sad news of the passing of HaRav Shaul Wagschal zt"l reached Eretz Yisroel from Gateshead. HaRav Wagschal was one of the outstanding mezakei harabbim of our generation and author of many Torah works.

In honor of his yahrtzeit, 25 Sivan

Initially Reb Dov Berisch refused to accept the mantle of leadership. However, as time passed and the period during which his father-in-law had pledged to support him was over, the young genius realized he had to provide for his household and so he accepted a position as rov in Biala.
