A Thousand New Students Enrolled in Shuvu Schools

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

About one thousand new students have been absorbed in the Shuvu educational network of 52 schools spread throughout the country, working in conjunction with Chinuch Atzmai. 700 of these have just entered the first grade. These, like their forerunners, are children of Russian extraction, who will also enjoy an extended school day and a full spectrum of secular studies at a high scholastic level, alongside Jewish studies.

The Shuvu movement, guided by gedolei Yisroel, opened this new school year with an emphasis on establishing schools of secondary education for those who graduated the elementary level. High schools of Shuvu were opened in Acco, Nazareth Illit, Beer Sheva and Beit Shemesh, in addition to the existing schools of Shuvu which boasts a chain of 18 kindergartens, 17 elementary schools, 9 intermediary level schools and high schools for girls, seven intermediary level schools and high schools for boys, and a kollel.
