New Learning Cycle Starts for 'Chofetz Chaim' and 'Shmiras
Haloshon'
By A. Cohen
Thousands are set to start the new study cycle for Chofetz
Chaim and Shmiras Haloshon according to the schedule of two
halachos per day fixed by HaRav Yehuda Lev Segal zt"l of
Manchester. The cycle begins anew three times a year, and in a leap
year it is adjusted by dividing the material into 13 months and the
books are completed just as in any other year, once every four
months.
HaRav Segal was known for a remark that became familiar around the
world: "There is no family in the world that learns according to the
arrangement of two halachos per day that does not see some sort of
yeshuo in a tangible way. For some it is a recovery from
illness, for others in shidduchim and for others still in
having children. It always helps."
