Yad Sarah Offers Benefits for Holocaust Survivors

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Holocaust survivors can join the Yad Sarah Crisis Center for free (with an NIS 150 deposit) and also receive heavily discounted dental care at Yad Sarah's dental clinic for the elderly, thanks to a donation by the Holocaust Survivors Fund in France.

Yad Sarah's elderly-dental clinic in Jerusalem is the only clinic in Israel of its kind. Operated in conjunction with the Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, all of the dentists work on a volunteer basis. Yad Sarah also has a mobile dental clinic to treat the homebound. The donation by the French fund enables Yad Sarah to provide Holocaust survivor patients an 80-percent discount, which means a complete set of dentures costs just NIS 480 ($135) instead of NIS 2,400 ($690) and a crown costs NIS 220 ($65) instead of NIS 1,100 ($320). Patients are entitled to discounts of up to NIS 6,000 ($1,700).

The Yad Sarah Crisis Center is also making available to Holocaust survivors at no cost an emergency bracelet that enables subscribers to contact the Yad Sarah response center from anywhere in the home during all hours of the day and night.
