Pesach preparations are in high gear at the Western Wall Plaza. The numerous notes wedged into the cracks in the Kosel are being removed and sent to sheimos.
Equipped with wooden poles, Kosel workers are busy taking out the many notes left by visitors who came to pray. Meanwhile, engineers are using cranes to assess the stability of the wall, checking the stones one by one to preclude the possibility of pieces of rock falling down.
They have found bits of rock brought by birds and placed between the enormous stone bricks.
The maintenance projects are being carried out by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, under the halachic supervision of HaRav Shmuel Rabinowitz, who serves as rov of the Western Wall.
