Rabbonim Call Shas Move to Join WZO `Chilul Hashem'

Rabbonim who head cities and congregations in Eretz Yisroel and abroad have been voicing disappointment and protest against the great chilul Hashem that has resulted from the Shas Party's decision to join the World Zionist Organization, noting the exultant response among Reform and Conservative figures to what they call Shas' "historical precedent."


Knesset Foreign Affairs Committee to Discuss Ties Between New Israel Fund and Goldstone Report

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Ministry is scheduled to hold a special meeting devoted to ties between the New Israel Fund and dozens of Israeli NGOs that provided almost all of the incriminating materials used against Israel in the infamous UN-sponsored Goldstone Report.


Were More than 6 million Killed in the Holocaust?

According to Catholic priest Father Patrick Desbois, many more than six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust. After interviewing more than 1,200 witnesses, Desbois has uncovered upwards of 700 previously unknown Jewish mass graves in Eastern Europe, where he believes at least 1.5 million Ukrainian Jews are buried.


Rabbi Gafni Pledges to Change State Funding System for Chareidi Education

MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni, chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee, told committee members that in preparing next year's budget he would work to alter the current funding method of negotiating with United Torah Judaism after the basic budget is published rather than including the chareidi education system in the original budget proposal.


Postal Company Announces Arrangement to Distribute Gas Masks to Larger Families

The Israel Postal Company will provide large families home delivery of gas mask kits for a fee of NIS 25 per family, CEO Avi Hochman told MK Rabbi Uri Maklev, chairman of the Knesset Public Petitions Committee.


Harel Pension Fund Managers Visit HaRav Eliashiv

Yossi Dotan, vice president of long-term savings at the Harel Group, and Motti Levy, vice president of Harel Gilad, received blessings from Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita for an investment track in the Harel Gilad pension fund which has been granted halachic approval by the Eida Chareidis' Oversight Committee for Financial Investments.
