UTJ Blocks Disastrous Conversion Law Amendment

United Torah Judaism blocked a first reading in the Knesset this week on a Yisrael Beitenu-sponsored amendment to the Conversion Law that would have granted recognition to Reform and Conservative "conversions."

Pre-Pesach Mehadrin Exports Rise Sharply

According to the Export Institute, in recent years Israel's matzoh exports have been at a level of $9 million per year, while pre-Pesach wine exports have totaled 2.8 million bottles worth $7.75 million per year.


Polish Righteous Gentile Honored

Yad Vashem posthumously honored Michalina Jasko of Krakow as a Righteous Among the Nations early this week. Her granddaughter Elzbieta Jablonska, who came from the United States for the event, received the medal and certificate of honor on her behalf.
