Principals Gather in Bnei Brak to Hear Warnings Against Internet Perils
Hundreds of school principles from throughout Eretz Yisroel came together on Sunday for a major gathering to protect the Torah-true education system against the blight of Internet use and so-called chareidi websites.
Tax Exemption Extended to Stipends at Torah Institutes
The Knesset plenary unanimously approved in second and third readings a legislative proposal to grant a tax exemption on stipends for students and researchers at Torah institutes and institutions of higher learning.
Led by gedolei Torah, thousands turned out for the funeral of Rabbi Menachem Porush, chairman of Agudas Yisroel in Jerusalem, who served as member of Knesset for many years for Agudas Yisroel and worked to promote Chinuch Atzmai. He continued the Porush family tradition of public service to Klal Yisroel, and worked, together with his colleagues, in the struggles to strengthen the religion and chareidi community. He was 94 years old.
As travelers are well aware, airlines typically screen movies that must be carefully avoided by the religious public. On most flights to Europe the films are shown on central screens, whereas on flights to the US every passenger has a personal screen, which also pose a problem for passengers striving to maintain reasonable standards of modesty.
