Rabbi Aharon Aberman received blessings from Maran HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv shlita last week for continued success in his wide-ranging chessed work as chairman of Lev Malka, a volunteer organization that assists the sick and their family members.
During the course of the visit, Rabbi Aberman told HaRav Eliashiv about the organization's recent endeavors, and before the visit ended Maran signed his name on a letter of approbation for the organization written and signed by gedolei Yisroel.
Lev Malka, over the past 18 years, has transformed from a small, unknown organization into a large, well known one, with an impressive record in the area of medicine and health care. Since the beginning of the year, Lev Malka has been busy operating a range of activities, including a camp for chareidi child cancer patients and their families during Chanukah.
The camp, held at the Nir Etzion Hotel, featured a variety of activities for the 160 participants, whose spirits were buoyed to lend them the strength to overcome the disease be'ezras Hashem.
Last week the organization held a tefilloh day for fathers and sons, including a visit to holy sites and to HaRav David Abuchatzeira, as well as a major blood drive in Jerusalem's Geula neighborhood.
Lev Malka is currently preparing for another camp for sick children to be held next month. And in the best of the Lev Malka tradition, volunteers are already making plans to distribute mishloach manos at hospitals.
The organization has also boosted the number of ambulances it operates to serve the sick and the handicapped. Concerted efforts are being made to add another ambulance and driver to provide for those in need.
