High Court Partially Rejects Appeal Against Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel Building Tenders

By Yechiel Sever

The secular opposition parties in the Beit Shemesh city council, with the NRP faction at their center, are continuing in their attempts to stymie construction in Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel.

After the District Court rejected their provocative petition to halt tenders in the neighborhood, this week they filed a High Court appeal, but it was partially rejected and the court determined that the tenders would close at the set time of 1:00 p.m. last Tuesday. However, the opening of the bids submitted was frozen for a two-week period.

Monday morning, in a desperate effort intended solely to generate red tape to hinder construction in Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel, the secular opposition factions filed the High Court appeal, demanding a temporary order not to close the tenders, and in the event the request was not honored, they demanded that the bids not be opened.
