Psak by Top Poskim: Eating Fish With Anisakis Worms Forbidden by Torah Law Gedolei Yisroel, including Maran HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv, shlita, are publicizing a halachic ruling this week regarding a type of worm known as Anisakis found in certain fish. It was originally issued over a year ago.
Blaze Consumes Three Sifrei Torah at Yeshivas Or HaChaim in Jerusalem The Torah world was shocked and stunned by a tragic fire at Yeshivas Or HaChaim in Jerusalem that claimed three sifrei Torah. Sets of tefillin, sifrei kodesh and furniture were also consumed in the blaze, which took place in the beis medrash used by the kollel.
In a case currently before the High Court parents of students at the Beis Yaakov school in Emanuel are being challenged for their firm stand, based on directives from gedolei Yisroel. In an unprecedented move, High Court judges are trying to force parents to send their daughters to study at the school against their will. Shortly before a hearing this week the parents said they would adhere to the instructions of their rabbonim.
