Arabs Torch Ancient Cemetery in Hevron

By G. Lazer

Arabs set fire to the ancient cemetery in Hevron over last weekend. No injuries were reported. Police claim there is no evidence of an arson attack since there is a lot of dry, flammable material in the area, but the extreme right threatened to exact revenge against Palestinians, speaking of a "price tag."

The Jewish community in the city says the cemetery and the surrounding area have been set fire to several times in recent weeks.

MK Michael Ben Ari (National Union) said following the incident that the Prime Minister must instruct the police and the GSS to launch an investigation aimed at locating the arsonists immediately, calling them the progeny of the Hevron Massacre marauders of 5689 (1929).
