Lieberman Meets With UTJ, Shas and HaIchud HaLeumi
By Eliezer Rauchberger
Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman MK Avigdor Lieberman met with MKs
from UTJ, Shas and HaIchud HaLeumi to hammer out
controversial issues among the three parties, which are
slated to enter the next coalition. The meetings were held
with MKs Rabbi Moshe Gafni, Rabbi Yaakov Litzman, Yaakov
Margi and Yaakov Katz.
During the meetings Lieberman raised various issues he wants
to advance or change, including intermarriage, conversion and
a major change in the election process. Regarding religious
issues Lieberman said unlike the Shinui Party he wants all
matters to be handled in accordance with halacha, but asked
that halachic solutions be found to the problems he
raised.
MK Rabbi Moshe Gafni presented Lieberman with various
consequences of the demands he issued on different issues and
it was agreed that all of the clarifications on issues
discussed would be done in accordance with halacha and under
the guidance of poskim.
