Psychiatric Treatment Center Slated for Construction in Bnei Brak

Warehouses belonging to the Bnei Brak Municipality are being moved temporarily to a site near the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood to make room for the construction of the Chibah psychiatric treatment center adjacent to Maayanei Hayeshua Hospital according to information made available during a meeting held in the office of Mayor Rabbi Yaakov Asher.
Fourteen years after the construction of the hospital, which was designed to provide medical treatment in an atmosphere of respect for Jewish tradition, founder Rabbi Dr. Moshe Rothschild, alert to current needs, decided to open clinics to treat mental illness in cooperation with the Health Ministry. Since then Chibah has treated hundreds of patients while making special efforts to accommodate their worldview. Besiyata deShmaya many of the patients have received proper treatment that has enabled them to reintegrate into normal community and family life.
The main problem Chibah faced was the lack of a place to treat patients for extended periods. Toward that end Dr. Rothschild initiated the construction of a new building that would include facilities for hospitalization and a rehabilitation center. Patients will receive both drug treatment and therapy by doctors, rabbonim and social workers, including diagnosis, treatment, consultation, monitoring, an approach to treatment aimed at fostering quick integration into community life, group therapy and support groups for patients and their family members, counselling for healthy living, attentiveness and support, a discreet location and treatment and an aesthetic, well-maintained environment.
