Gemach Merkazi Sets Fixed Dollar Rate

At a special board meeting of the Gemach Merkazi a series of
decisions were reached regarding the decline in the value of
the dollar in terms of Israeli shekels, which has caused
significant losses for many people who deposited their
savings in the Gemach Merkazi. Recently the dollar has been
valued at about 3.5 shekels. Five years ago it was almost at
5 shekels, and has since traded at around 4.2 shekels.

meet their obligations to passengers are now underway.
Recently Betzedek has received hundreds of written complaints
regarding public transportation, including precise details

Volunteers Left Eilat MDA Station After Pork Was Served

Observant Jews in Eilat were shocked to discover both pork
and meat with milk dishes were served over the course of
several weeks at a Magen David Adom station. Religious MDA
volunteers in the city, who were completely unaware of the
problem, have decided to stop working for the organization
until the incident is investigated and the keilim
replaced.
Strauss to Label Non-Cholov Yisroel Products

Strauss, one of Israel's leading dairy companies, will
prominently label products that contain ingredients derived
from cholov nochri according to a compromise agreement
submitted in court after a class-action suit was filed
against the company.

especially Yeshivas Mir, following the petiroh of
HaRav Eliyohu Boruch Finkel zt"l, one of the roshei
yeshiva and a leading marbitz Torah, who passed
away unexpectedly on Monday 24 Adar at the age of 60.
