A Great Forum for Kovod HaTorah: The Festive Siyum of the Oz
VeHodor Edition of Shas

A great crowd headed by maranan derabbonon the
gedolei haTorah and chassidus, roshei yeshivos,
admorim and rabbonim, all gathered on Wednesday 17 Teves at
the Avenue Hall on the Ben Gurion Airport grounds in honor of
the siyum of the new edition of Shas known as "Oz
VeHodor" that was done by a group of outstanding talmidei
chachomim headed by HaRav Yehoshua Leitner.
Before the gala evening, the heads of the Oz VeHodor
institute visited maranan verabonon including Maran
HaRav Y. S. Eliashiv shlita who blessed them and their
work and also sent a letter that was read by HaRav Mordechai
Gross.
Attending were HaRav Aharon Leib Shteinman, the Gerrer Rebbe,
HaRav Shmuel Wosner, HaRav Meir Tzvi Bergman, HaRav Nosson
Tzvi Finkel, and many other prominent Torah personages.
HaRav Shteinman noted in his speech that the only mitzvoh
where the Torah gives an arrangement whereby one person can
fulfill it for another is the mitzvoh of talmud Torah,
where Zevulun can support Yissochor in his learning. The
reason is that talmud Torah is so centrally important
to he existence of the world — it is the essence of the
world and it soul — that Hashem wanted everyone to have
a share in it. Oz VeHodor increases Torah in the world and
thereby contributes to its existence.
Also speaking were HaRav Wosner, the son of the Admor of
Sqver, the Admor of Tzanz-Klausenberg from America, HaRav
Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz, HaRav Malkiel Kotler, HaRav Shmuel
Auerbach, HaRav Mordechai Gross, HaRav Boruch Mordechai
