Agudas Yisroel Yarchei Kallah in Jerusalem

By Yechiel Sever

The 8th annual Agudas Yisroel of America Yarchei Kallah was brimming with excitement when it opened at the Renaissance Hotel in Jerusalem on Monday.

Throughout the day participants were greeted by Agudas Yisroel of America board members as they arrived from Ben- Gurion Airport. Using a carefully planned logistics system each participant was directed to his room right away and furnished with a complete schedule, an organized folder and a gemora with a compilation of commentaries from the sugya for this year's Yarchei Kallah, Kibbud Av Ve'em and Kibbud Rabbo Vetalmid Chochom.

The participants include dozens of businessmen and professionals who left their homes and business affairs to spend a few days immersed in Torah study in the holy atmosphere of Jerusalem and to hear shiurim and stirring talks by gedolei Yisroel and roshei yeshivos. Many of them expressed their excitement over the opportunity to take part in this unique Agudas Yisroel program.

Before the Yarchei Kallah began, Agudas Yisroel of America heads paid a visit to the home of Maran HaRav Eliashiv shlita to receive his blessings. He praised them for setting aside their regular affairs to devote these days exclusively to Torah study. During the course of their conversation they touched on various issues currently on the agenda, both in Eretz Yisroel and abroad.

Wednesday's packed schedule included a central chizuk talk given by the Admor of Sanz.

A special program was also prepared for Agudas Yisroel wives taking part in the Yarchei Kallah.
