Elozor Menachem Man Shach zt"l in Bnei Brak to mark
his fifth yahrtzeit on Tuesday 16 Cheshvan.
By Monday night thousands were already arriving to lay forth
their supplications before Ovinu ShebaShomayim in the merit
of the Rosh Yeshiva, whose gravestone even includes an
excerpt from his will reading, "And if I am able to act and
intercede on your behalf I will do so, bli neder."

temporary overhang and lighting system. At chatzos a
large tefilloh was held and the crown on hand recited
Tehillim and the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy for the
yeshuo of Klal Yisroel and individuals
alike.
Shiurim and special talks were given on Tuesday at the
various yeshivas and other Torah halls where the Rosh Yeshiva
helped bear the load for decades. At Chinuch Atzmai schools,
seminaries and talmudei Torah throughout Eretz
Yisroel and in the Diaspora special gatherings and
lessons were held to recall stories about Maran and convey
the direction he gave to the entire Jewish world.
Degel HaTorah charted buses to take avreichim and
bochurim to the gravesite after the morning learning
session and to bring them back to their respective botei
medrash.
Thousands also took part in memorial gatherings in Bnei Brak,
Jerusalem, Netivot, Elad and Ashdod. In Modi'in Illit, Darkei
Chinuch organized an enormous gathering for yeshiva
ketanoh and older talmud Torah students at the
Ashkolot Payis center.

talmidim and the roshei yeshiva.

botei medrash based on Maran's request "to do
chessed for me and learn for my ilui neshomoh
even a single mishnah or a single mussar
thought and that will be my reward."
