Apartment Prices in Charish to be Controlled to
Accommodate Chareidi Buyers
By Betzalel Kahn
Within three weeks the construction plans for the town of
Charish will be altered to accommodate the needs of the
chareidi sector and the Ministry of Construction and Housing
will prepare a special marketing plan to insure low apartment
prices, MK Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz and Housing Minister Meir
Shetreet decided last week.
During their meeting, the two again discussed the housing
crisis in the chareidi sector — the shortage of
available lots and rising apartment prices — and the
need to accelerate projects in Charish as a solution to these
problems.
After the meeting MK Rabbi Ravitz said, "Construction for
chareidim in the new town of Charish is on its way. The needs
of every kehilloh will be properly met, both in terms
of institutions and botei knesses, which will be built
to accommodate the various needs."
Rabbi Ravitz recently toured the Charish area with Local
Council Head Mr. Yaakov Amur and Housing Ministry District
Manager Rabbi Moshe Rubinstein, who also expressed their
willingness to promote the plan. "I hope construction will
begin within a year," Rabbi Ravitz said last week.
