The issue of shmiras haloshon has a warm spot in the
heart of every Jew. Awareness of the issue has been
heightened dramatically in the past generation. Mishmeres
HaSholom translates this knowledge into action: tens of
thousands of families take part in daily shmiras
haloshon study programs, thousands of children study and
take tests based on halochoh books designed for children
their age and dozens of schools and institutions have set up
special learning programs for their students.
Every year gatherings are held during Chol Hamoed for 6,000
children, who take part in interesting programs, drawings,
prizes handouts and hear messages on the importance of
guarding one's tongue.
The organization is found in various towns in Israel and
other parts of the world and enjoys the support and
encouragement of gedolei hador shlita representing
every stream of Torah-true Judaism.
The volunteer organization, run by thousands of coordinators
and representatives, operates out of a modest Jerusalem
office and its enormous budget creates a strain each and
every month.
Many families say joining Mishmeres HaSholom changed their
lives dramatically, improving the atmosphere in the home and
changing their children for the better.
