Berlin Holocaust Memorial Regularly Defaced

Anonymous vandals desecrate the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin
every day. The German government became aware of the
incidents after a German newspaper ran photos of piles of
trash heaped on the concrete slabs, in additional to other
acts of vandalism.
The memorial site consists of 2,700 black, unmarked
gravestones symbolizing the six million Jews killed by the
Nazis. The architect intended to create a feeling of horror
and shock, but unidentified visitors and neo-Nazi groups
deface the gravestones, covering up their predecessors'
deeds.
