The Malam Group finished training the first group of women
for the Maalot project in Beitar Illit.
Over the past two years Mayor Rabbi Yitzchok Pindrus has
initiated the opening of several high-tech ventures at the
city's Employment Development Center, where hundreds of local
women are employed. Companies that have already opened work
centers include the Malam Group, Citibook, EDS and FXEM.
A ceremony was held recently to mark the completion of the
training course. Certificates were handed out to 20 course
graduates, the first group of trainees the Malam Group has
prepared for its Maalot Project, which is being promoted by
Maalot Project Manager Shlomo Ben-Chaim, Mafteach Project
Director R' Hershel Klein, Gidon Zaken, Jerusalem director of
the Trade and Commerce Ministry, and R' Yossi Ofer,
employment coordinator at the Prime Minister's Office and the
Trade and Commerce Ministry. The event was emceed by the
Mayor's communications advisor, Rabbi Betzalel Kahn. The
speakers praised Malam Group managers for being among the
pioneers in the setup of employment ventures for Beitar
Illit's women residents and extended kudos to all of those
who take part in promoting the city's employment ventures.
At the end of the ceremony representatives from Malam, the
Joint and the Trade and Commerce Ministry handed out
certificates of excellence to the course graduates.
According to Shlomo Ben-Chaim the graduation ceremony is
another successful landmark for the Maalot Project. Malam CEO
Levy Halevy says he expects to increase the number of women
employees in Beitar Illit.
